InScience On Campus
Cultuur op de Campus en InScience present: InScience on Campus! To get you excited for the fourth festival edition, InScience screens two science documentaries on the campus of the Radboud University: Waiting for Immortality and Lo and Behold: Reveries of the Connected World. After each film, a mini-lecture will be given by a scientist to further deepen the subjects of the documentaries. InScience On Campus will be held on 24 October.
Waiting for immortality
Are science and technology about to break through the greatest of all frontiers and render human beings immortal? Cryonics technology is improving. Human cloning is within our reach. Reversing the decline of organs and cells now seems feasible. The film travels to the U.S., Canada and Europe, examining the high hopes and the thorny social and moral questions being raised by these new technologies.
Lo and Behold
The internet has invaded every part of our lives and the time is ready to see how our everyday lives have been shaped by it. Director Werner Herzog takes a fresh look at the internet, approaching it as if he has never seen it before. He talks with various artists and scientists, including the founders of the internet, to see how we got to our current online world and to guess where it might take us.
