InScience presents More Human Than Human

Is it possible to build a robot that replaces your own role as a filmmaker? In the context of the fourth festival edition, InScience Dutch International Science Film Festival presents a preview in LUX with the documentary More Human Than Human and a lecture by Professor of Artificial Intelligence Marcel van Gerven (Radboud University). This program is English spoken and the film has Dutch subtitles.

Documentary More Human Than Human

More Human Than Human explores the promises and the complex role of Artificial Intelligence in today’s world and the consequences of those promises becoming reality. In this feature length documentary the filmmaker attempts to build an intelligent robot to see if it can replace him as the film director. Will our creation, infinitely smarter, interconnected and possibly self-aware, render humanity obsolete?

lecture about the consequences of artificial intelligence

After the film Professor van Gerven tells you more about the developments and consequences of artificial intelligence. Van Gerven focuses on understanding the neural mechanisms of cognition. To this end, he studies empirically how the brain operates in naturalistic conditions and uses neural networks to model human brain function. From an applied perspective, van Gerven develops new neural network architectures to create intelligent machines that outperform humans on cognitively challenging tasks.

During the Q&A you can ask all your questions.
